Power or HighTech?

PowerSpeaking®  and HighTechSpeaking® are both two-day, video-based presentation skills workshops that empower presenters to create clear, well-organized, confident talks that connect with their audiences. Since many of our clients are now offering both PowerSpeaking® and HighTechSpeaking®, people are asking us "What are the differences between these two classes? Who should take which one?"

Similarities:

Both classes are powerful, video-based two-day programs designed for 12 participants. People make tremendous progress in their speaking skills because of the 10 videotaped presentations and the six private coaching sessions.

Ways HighTechSpeaking®  differs from PowerSpeaking® :

  • The audience is generally technical people who present technical information to other technical people.

  • There is an in-depth audience analysis section.

  • Videotape examples feature excellent technical presenters (including Nobel Prize winners).

  • There is a reduced emphasis on delivery style.

  • The visual aid section includes computer-generated and multi-media presentations.

  • The workbook and class design includes technical examples throughout the two days.

  • A year in development, HighTechSpeaking® grew out of extensive interviews with 27 scientists and engineers to discover what they needed to become effective presenters.

Who should attend?

PowerSpeaking® is for speakers who present non-technical information to general audiences. HighTechSpeaking® is for people who present technical information to technical (and sometimes mixed) audiences. The emphasis is on data. Because of the look and feel of HighTechSpeaking®, (i.e., the workbook, the videotape examples, the visual aids section), scientists, engineers and other technical professionals will feel more at home in this program.
