The Methodology for Change

The hallmark of all our programs is involvement. There is a minimum of lecture and a maximum of practice.  Our laser-focused, in-depth feedback is a step-by-step building block process with a personalized action plan after each coaching session. That same coaching process creates the confidence and unique style for each presenter. Peer and trainer feedback also serve to support what works from the audience's perspective. Stop-action coaching from the lead trainer provides in-the-moment feedback to eliminate ineffective habits and learn more compelling presentation skills.

Continuous Improvement

We devour new research, modify our programs regularly (e.g., we have changed our workbook 25 times), and continuously improve both the content and the technology of the courses. For example, we now include the latest brain chemistry research on memory from UC Irvine, research on building retention using "Pattern Disruption" developed at Indiana University, and the latest, quantifiable research on visual aids based on research from UC Santa Barbara. What that means to you is the most up-to-date program in the industry with a creative, innovative edginess.

An Effective, Intensive Coaching Model

Why a private, two-trainer model? Intense, in-depth coaching happens privately, not in front of peers. Presentation skills training can be unnerving for many. Coaching and critiquing in front of peers makes most people squirm. And watching all presenters' videos within the workshop room is a huge time sink. With private coaching, behavioral changes are crafted, modeled, and explored in a safe environment. Behavioral changes stick. Because the workshop is individualized and moving ahead with new and interesting material, participants stay focused and attentive.  We have six private coaching sessions per participant, for maximum skill building.

Efficient Presentation Templates

One of the biggest problems for a presenter is finding a way to take all the material at his/her disposal and develop an efficient way of putting a presentation together. Our presentation templates take you through a step-by-step approach for creating an organized, well-crafted presentation tailored to any level of audience in the organization. Templates help you transform random thoughts and disorganized data into clear, well-organized presentations.

Technical Presenter Emphasis

There are unique challenges in most technical presentations. We specialize in the biotech and high tech arenas. Our video examples come from the world of science and engineering. Speaking to technical peers is a "different language" than speaking to managers. A year in development, and an eight-year proven track record, our HighTechSpeaking^® program grew out of extensive interviews with 27 scientists and engineers. The workshop takes you through 10 video-taping sessions which means skills develop at a muscle-memory level.

 Location Options

You have lots of choices: our training studio, your training facility, or a hotel around the country or around the world. Because corporate-training space is often cramped and at a premium, it's nice to know that our state-of-the-art training studio is available for your programs. It's a great place for off-site skill development and team building.

Ongoing Learning after Leaving the Workshops

We do a disservice to our clients if we think of our services as only the two days in a workshop. So, the course is just part of a journey that continues with free online and telephone customer support, quarterly speaking "E-Tips," an online refresher course, and a CD ROM that contains two books for reference, four videos, and other helpful products.
