Stop-Action Coaching
Stop-Action coaching provides on-the-spot coaching. With video feedback following the presentation, you have "choice" on what looks most effective. Once you try new strategies in front of the group and you have committed, they're yours!
Critical Thinking
Perhaps you’ve heard that "The words you say equal only 7% of your impact as a speaker." Do you believe it? Does that even make sense? These findings from the famous "Mehrabian Study" are pure bunk. How do we know? We interviewed Dr. Mehrabian himself, and HE told us his study had nothing at all to do with public speaking. He added, furthermore, that his data had never been duplicated. The upshot? Of course your words matter! You’ll find that we put critical thinking and research at the heart of all our programs.
Brain Based Strategies
Our emphasis on "Pattern Disruption" (research from the University of Indiana) as a way to keep the audience engaged is at the heart of how we design our programs. That research shows how our brains consistently and predictably tune out a presentation if there is no change in the presentation pattern every few minutes. (Examples: vocal change, visual aid change, a role play, a video example, a presentation to the group, a coaching session, etc.) Interactivity is designed in every program.
Original Research
Why use a mechanical pointer instead of your hand, or worse, a laser pointer when you present visuals? Our research shows audiences overwhelmingly prefer, no matter how retro, the pointer.
